Uxmal is located about 40
miles southwest of Merida, and about 250 miles southwest
of Cancún. Take Highway 180 South, and then 281
southwest toward Uxmal. The site is one of the greatest
Mayan ceremonial centers. All the buildings are
beautifully carved and decorated. You will admire the
pyramid of the magician, quadrangle of the nuns, the
Governor’s Palace. Uxmal is considered one of the most
beautiful pre-Hispanic archaeological sites on the
American Continent, due to the majestic construction
decorated with fine relief, whose precision and elegance
are still astonishing. A guided visit to the Mayan site
of Kabah is included.
